This page is a sub-page of our Kaiser Permanente Horror Stories Archive, and includes external links to examples of Kaiser billing problems. As you can see it is desperately in need of an update (we’re working on it!), but please do not assume this short list indicates few problems, as Kaiser is known for frequent mis-billing. We suggest you audit every bill. Numerous additional Kaiser complaints and reviews can be found by browsing the entirety of our website.
We have very recently opened up our horror stories pages to comments so you can add your own complaints below. Please try to stay on topic, and unless you are no longer with Kaiser and have no open complaints or legal actions that have not yet been settled, we suggest you use a pseudonym and avoid details that Kaiser can use to identify you. Kaiser’s lawyers do monitor this website and will use what you write here against you. All comments are moderated due to the potential for abuse, but we usually approve them within a day.

KP of Washington keep charge my account after I close my account , I called them more than 20 times, every time, they said, sorry, we will fix it, but they dump me over the phone to other department
Someone who had been consuming alcohol they thought was tainted and they were poisoned, took an ambulance to an KP e-room.
After determining the person was ok, the ambulance coordinator denied the payment for the ride
and forced the member to pay what would be over $1,000 today.
The denial was because there was no need (only known later on).
They said you have to call to get PERMISSION to take an ambulance.
When asked what if they had called and been denied, if KP though it was ok for the member to drink & drive,
they said they could have taken a taxi!
