More than 3,000 Kaiser patients are at risk for hepatitis — Females alerted to unsanitized equipment that hospitals used
April 8, 2005, from the Times-Herald:
About 3,200 female patients from four Northern California Kaiser facilities, including Vallejo and Vacaville, have been notified that they may face a hepatitis infection due to improperly sanitized equipment during operations dating back four years.
I had 2 operations at the roseville hospital over the last 4 years. I haven’t been notified of any risk as yet. Could you tell me which hospitals were involved. Thanks
I just realized the link to the original article is dead. There is a reprint on The Kaiser Papers.
Looks like Vallejo, Vacaville, Redwood City and Sacramento.
This site is fantastic! I wish I had known about it sooner. Back in 1989 Kaiser Santa Rosa had treated our father for bronchitis for three months. My father upon taking our brother to Terra Linda Kaiser had asked the Dr. for a refill for cough syrup. The Dr. asked how long he had been coughing and took x-rays which he wanted to compare to Santa Rosa’s. My father informed the Dr. Santa Rosa Kaiser had not taken any x-rays. That day our father was diagnosed with cancer and was dead in three months at the age of 56.
