Hello Fleishman-Hillard

By | July 12, 2006

Yes, we’ve seen you creeping around in our stats the last couple of days, so we thought it would be polite to say hello and welcome you to kaiserthrive.org. So Hello. And Welcome. While you only seem to be interested in Kaiser’s ad campaign, we’d like to invite you to take a look around at what Kaiser has been doing to people — good people, whose only mistake was to trust that “at Kaiser Permanente your health is our first concern.” Health isn’t an industry after all. It’s a cause.

For those of you who don’t know, Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, based in St. Louis, Missouri, is one of the largest PR agencies in the world. Among its specialties are crisis communications and reputation management, which just happen to be two services that Kaiser Permanente is in desperate need of these days. We haven’t seen any kind of public announcement about F-H taking Kaiser on as a client, but with the sudden interest in our little web site we’re left to assume.

So here we sit, fork and knife in hand, waiting for more Brand Baloney.

Kaiser’s ad campaign is bit like Phillip Morris doing its campaign on smoking cessation. The ads are so ridiculous that they make me puke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think Kaiser realizes, or doesn’t care how insulting the Thrive commercials are to the people it has harmed. If Kaiser really wants to change its image there has to be more than lip service paid to the issues that are causing all this disgruntlement in the first place. Revisiting the complaints of the several hundred people we know of who were lied to and had their cases covered up and evidence tampered with — with ethics and integrity — would be a good place to start.
